Welcome to My Practice
Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being.
As a licensed clinical social worker in Durham, NC I work with you to uncover and relieve emotional and behavioral issues that are presently challenging and to assist you on your road to healing. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve past and present challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Some of the issues that a licensed clinical social worker may address in therapy include: depression, anxiety, trauma, repetitive thoughts, fears, marital conflict and family conflict. Sessions take place face-to-face.
What Does A Licensed Clinical Social Worker Do?
A licensed clinical social worker can diagnose and implement mental health therapies. In most cases a license clinical social worker has to obtain at least a masters of social work and perform many hours of supervised clinical work afterwards. A clinical social worker performs their duties based on strengths based therapy. This means the counselor determines the strength of the patient and begins recovery based on that determination. Usually, a licensed clinical social worker will also consider a patient’s environment in designing a plan for recovery.
Don’t delay seeing a mental health professional; it is actually the wise who seek help when it is needed. I am Maria Rodriguez-Fischer, a licensed clinical social worker and I want to be your mental health therapist. My practice is based in Durham and Chapel Hill.
